TurnItIn is a tool used for prevention of plagiarism. The student will paste their paper in TurnItIn and then the content is checked against a gigantic database of writing, even other student papers. There is a discussion forum tool containing built-in moderation. The teacher may use the feedback tools to provide improvement suggestions. They offer 3 products:

• Feedback Studio – Plagiarism checking, online feedback, and grading
• Revision Assistant – Instant formative feedback on student writing
• Scoring Engine – Automated essay scoring

TurnItIn is a paid product. One drawback is an individual teacher cannot purchase an account, they must join a schoolwide account.
