Our new calendar can send you a text message, or an email every day listing all your events! How? Click on the +Google Calendar button at the bottom of the calendar.

A window will open asking for your email and password. If you have gmail, you can use it. If not, you can Create an account (it's free) and use your district email to set up an account.

You will be asked for your name, email address, password (one you create), and to agree to the usage policy.

The coolest feature of using this tool is that you are able to "layer" each calendar so that all your calendars are on one grid. I have 4 calendars, personal, faculty, class and school. I can show 1, 2, 3, or 4 calendars on one grid at the same time.

Here's a screenshot of the faculty calendar and the school calendar on one grid:

So exactly how do you set up your text or email to receive calendar information? Once you have your calendar set up, find the blue settings link at the top and click on it. Click Calendar settings on the drop-down menu. Then click on Mobile setup on the orange navigation bar at the top of the window. Once there, follow the directions to receive text messages or emails.
In order to add events to the faculty calendar, one must register (as described above), click on the day you wish to add an event to and fill out the pop-up form, remember to add details to click on edit event details at the bottom of the pop-up window. Your event will then be on the school website!
Note: Only those who received invitations will be able to edit the calendars. All faculty received an invitation to the faculty calendar and teachers who may have school-wide events received an invitation to the school calendar. Adding a Google Calendar Event :-)
Cheers,
CAT
